The Floral Field Trip Part Two – Vermont Photoshoot
So you have seen all the behind-the-scene pics from my amazing trip to Vermont this fall. Here is the culmination of all our hard work – a foam free, completely American Grown fall-inspired wedding arch, with matching bouquet and boutonniere. Honestly, I think this is some of my favorite work….but as you know, I say that a lot…..and I mean it everytime!! This trip was so inspiring, and really, was quite a confidence booster. I really got to be surrounded by a beautiful setting and like-minded flower family and what I created while in that incredible bubble of creativity really showed me the amazing things we are capable of creating when we put our minds to it. This arch is right in line with the work I do at home. We used no floral foam, and all the material was locally sourced – everything I’d ever want for an event! Please enjoy these beautiful images from Taken By Sarah Photography (@takenbysarah).
This arch was created with beautiful foraged foliage and hydrangea from Mountain Flower Farm, with other American grown goodies from The Floral Reserve, Understory Farm, and Longfield Gardens. We cut beautiful maple branches and forsythia foliage to cover the arch and then added beautiful hydrangea to complete the design. We used a custom made arch that came in two pieces, filled the structure with water buckets to provide a water source for flowers, and then added the fresh product. Honestly, knowing that I can create such a full design using no floral foam and knowing that the more delicate flowers still had a water source is EVERYTHING!
This bouquet…… *sigh* the way the cosmos bounce and create movement, and that fiery dahlia that centers everything…. this bouquet is the culmination of all the best things from this trip!
